This week, the PMEA District 6 Chorus Festival is being held in Somerset.

Bellwood-Antis students attending are Anna Sloey, Shalee Bennet, Cooper Burns, Dominick Faith, Noah Patton, and Nicholas Caracciolo.

The students attending left Wednesday for initial practice and be at the festival through Friday, February 8.  The concert itself will be Friday night.

“The six district chorus students are very talented singers and fine musicians,” said B-A Music Director Ms. Beth Hull. “Our district festival is being conducted by Dr. Craig Denison, professor of choral music at IUP. The rehearsals sound awesome!”

Domenick Faith and Anna Sloey each used their auditions at Districts to qualify for Regional Chorus in March at Glendale High School.

“The singing competition for Regional chorus is very tough,” said Ms. Hull. “Anna Sloey and Dominick Faith Earned their chairs in the regional chorus with exceptional musicianship, dedication, and love for music. They will have an opportunity to audition for a seat in the state chorus, competing with school districts from Lewisburg, State College, Bellefonte, and other larger districts. Anna and Dominick both are very determined individuals, and I anticipate that they are going to keep their eyes on the state prize.”

Best of luck to the students participating in Districts.
