Say Hello…& Goodbye to the Class of 2019

Mya Decker

It’s finally time for the class of 2019 to say goodbye.

It’s almost that time. Graduation! The Class of 2019 is definitely ready to leave. We finished our tests, took our SATs, ASVABs, and Keystones, played our sports, been to the dances, applied for colleges and universities, trade schools, and the military, went to prom, turned in our ipads, fought with our teachers, parents and friends, planned our events, won our awards, had our senior nights, received the good grades and the bad, went to the banquets, had countless trips for the clubs we are involved in, walked the halls one last time, and now we are about to put on our caps and gowns. I’d say it is bittersweet though. Bellwood has been home since kindergarten for most of us. We have come to know the inside and out of every person. However, I think before we leave some of us want you to know who we are, the Class of 2019.

Riley Marie Amerine

In my 4 years at BAHS, I was in LEO Club. I have learned that you can’t trust everyone. To my underclassman, make every moment count (Also, Emmy O, Hunter G, Thalia, and Kenny…I love you guys!) After 4 years at BAHS, I’m most proud of finding myself and my true friends through my senior year. If I could go back to freshman year, I would not have gotten into a relationship. My favorite teachers were Mr.Moyer or Mrs.Riddle because they always brought a positive influence on my life. My best friends were Alanna V and Nick P. They helped me through hard times and were always there for me. If we were to have an actual time capsule, I would put in a note to my future self.

Jenna Elizabeth Bartlett

In my 4 years at BAHS, I was in Cross Country, Track and Field, Speech League, NHS, BA Blueprint, LEO Club, and Renaissance. I have learned not to take everything so seriously, as well as, enjoying the time I have because it flies by. I’ve learned to simply be myself, be happy, and be comfortable in my own skin. God has helped me grow this year in ways I never thought possible: He’s got a plan and it is good. To my underclassman, be friends with everyone, pray often, and enjoy yourself. After 4 years at BAHS, I’m most proud of my athletic accomplishments in XC and Track, as well as my speech league accomplishments. Im also proud of becoming a positive influence from my BA Blueprint articles. If I could go back to freshman year, I would have put my full trust in God, not let everything get to me, and told myself to put myself out there a little more and talk to people. My favorite teacher was Mrs.Bartlett, but besides her, Mr.Naylor. I love the way he teaches and his intelligence is interesting to listen to. His debate class is a lot of fun and he’s very easy going. Loved Mrs.Cunningham, Mrs.Padula, Mr.Elder, and Mr.Burch too! My favorite memory was qualifying for the PIAA Cross Country Championship in Hershey! Announcing at homecoming every year was great too. Oh, and mini-THON!  My best friend was Kara Engle. Im very blessed to know her, she is such a wonderful person to be around. She’s always happy and positive and I love hanging out with her. If we were to have an actual time capsule, I would put in my shirt that says “Don’t look back, you’re not going that way” because you can’t control the past, instead get excited about what God is doing in your future! Also, I add a running watch because I love to go the distance!

Jordyn Elisabeth Beam

In my 4 years at BAHS, I was in Competitive Dance, Chorus, Yearbook, Renaissance, NHS, and Blueprint. I have learned that your attitude and view of school can affect if your days are good or bad. To my underclassman, don’t spend the entire year wishing it was all over because that makes everything negative. After 4 years at BAHS, I’m most proud of the friendships I’ve made. If I could go back to freshman year, I would have told myself to stop being a big jerk. My favorite teacher was Mr.Burch because he was chill or whateva! My favorite memory was driving home from a football game when I turned off my headlights in the dark on a one way on the side of the mountain. My best friends were Ali W, Olivia T, Paige W, and Hannah W because we have the same humor and yeah..If we were to have an actual time capsule, I would put in a butterfly because they are cute and I like them.

Kaelynn Elizabeth Behrens

In my 4 years at BAHS, I was in Blueprint, mini-THON, Volleyball, Track and Field, and Swimming. I have learned that it is okay to not be okay. Your true friends will always support you and have your back. People’s opinions of you do not matter, so just enjoy yourself and be who you want to be. To my underclassman, be patient and don’t be too hard on yourself if you don’t do well. High school is full of highs and lows so enjoy the highs and keep the faith in the lows. After 4 years at BAHS, I’m most proud of my awards and achievements in Blueprint because I have grown in my writing skills, my people skills, and it has made me a better person. If I could go back to freshman year, I would have tried to get more involved in extracurriculars. My favorite teacher was Mrs.Frank because she always goes out of her way to help me and make sure I’m okay. My favorite memory was volleyball senior night because it was very emotional and it was the best game of my life. My best friend was Jestelynn H because she has always been my go to for good and bad news and I truly don’t know what I would do without her! If we were to have an actual time capsule, I would put in a pen and notebook because I write everything down and I have been writing for my entire HS career.

Cooper Harrison Burns

In my 4 years at BAHS, I was in Chorus and Musical Theater. I have learned that with hard work you can achieve high goals. Treat everyone with respect and love. Be a godly example. To my underclassman, respect authority and work hard. After 4 years at BAHS, I’m most proud of being in Godspell because it got me out of my shell. I was more comfortable on stage after Godspell. If I could go back to freshman year I would have treated people with more respect. I wish I would’ve been more mature. My favorite teacher was Mrs.Hull because she taught me how to sing out.  My favorite memory was eating ice cream and brownies with the theater class. My best friend was probably Willie Williams because we joke a lot and he makes my day a little more enjoyable. If we were to have an actual time capsule, I would put in a bible because I’m a believer and Christ follower.

To my underclassman, don’t give up. After 4 years at BAHS, I’m most proud of having an education good enough to get me into an early acceptance med school program. Being 1 of 80 kids in the country to get selected made me realize how lucky I was to attend BAHS. If I could go back to freshman year I would not change a thing. My favorite teacher was Mrs.Flarend because she is very friendly and personable. My favorite memory was placing 2nd as a team at swim districts my senior year. That was a great way to end my swim career. My best friend was Alivia Jacobs because she may drive me up a wall but we have been friends for forever. If we were to have an actual time capsule, I would put in my swim goggles because swimming was a huge part of my life for the last 4 years and I gained a whole other family to make memories with.

Tylar Morgan Clemente

In my 4 years at BAHS, I was in Majorettes, Art Club, Aevidum, Renaissance, NHS, Track and Field, Golf, Morning Announcements, and Office Assistants. I have learned that it is not a competition. Take classes that you can do well in and excel, not classes that your friends are taking. To my underclassman, be nice to everyone. Don’t say anything you wouldn’t want someone to say about you. It literally costs nothing to be nice to someone. After 4 years at BAHS, I’m most proud that no matter what I stayed true to myself even when it has been really difficult. I’m just glad I’m secure with myself and happy. If I could go back to freshman year I would have done my homework and been more motivated to do well. My favorite teacher was Miss Clippard because she wants to me excel in school and life. She genuinely cares about me and my well being. She is also very positive, supportive, and motivating. My favorite memory was after my senior night majorette performance, the whole student section gave me a huge hug. My best friends, well, I don’t really have any, I’m pals with everyone! If we were to have an actual time capsule, I would put a paintbrush. Everyone knows I’m an artist and that it is my passion.

Trevor Joseph Crusciel

In my 4 years at BAHS, I was in Cross Country, Track, FCA, and NHS. I have learned how a small school like Bellwood can do so many good things. I’ve also learned not to take myself so seriously. To my underclassman, try to enjoy everyday because it will go fast. After 4 years at BAHS, I’m most proud of all the friends I’ve made and my good grades. My favorite memory was every time Mr.Crowell yelled at Schmoke! My best friend was Owen Shaulis because we share many of the same interests and have been friends for awhile. To my underclassman, no matter what no one likes freshman. After 4 years at BAHS I’m most proud of track and FFA. I have invested a lot of time and effort into both. If I could go back to freshman year I would have paid for the credits in the CHS classes that I took. My favorite teacher was Mr. Webreck because of the countless trips, explosions, and teachings that will relate to things I will do later in life. If we were to have an actual time capsule, I would put in an autographed photo of me because it’s funny. It won’t ever be worth anything!

Riley Olivia D’Angelo

In my 4 years at BAHS, I was in Basketball, Soccer, Track and Field, Key Club, NHS, mini-THON, FCA, and Chess Club. I have learned I can handle more than I think and still stay unbothered and have a good time. To my underclassman, good luck without me! After 4 years at BAHS I’m most proud of the relationships and memories I’ve made, there were so many good ones. Also, STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS BABY! LET’S GO!!! If I could go back to freshman year I would have relaxed more and not stressed about the little things.  My favorite teacher was Mr.Burch. He is the chillest man I have ever met and he never fails to make me laugh. My favorite memory was dancing at mini-THON with all of my closest friends. I can’t pick a best friend- there were too many good ones 😉 If we were to have an actual time capsule, I would put put in my state champ ring- it’s not too flashy but it lets everyone know who is in charge.

Gage Jeffery Dean

In my 4 years at BAHS, I was never really involved with school oriented events. Sadly, I was never interested but I was in the CTC Program. I have learned how forgiving I can be and how scared I am to take on the real world by myself. To my underclassman, do not wish your life away, it is simple, but so true. After 4 years at BAHS, I’m most proud of my accomplishments and the person I have become over time. I only hope to keep getting better. If I could go back to freshman year I would have made my schedules more efficient and paid more attention. My favorite teachers were Mrs.Stinson, Mr.McMinn, Mrs.Flarend, Mr.Naylor, and Mr.McNaul. I know that’s a lot but it is the teacher’s personality that makes the class interesting. My favorite memory was unplugging Mrs.Stinson’s TV for the morning announcements, that was funny. If we were to have an actual time capsule, I’m not really sure what I would put in.

Mya Elizabeth Decker

In my 4 years at BAHS, I was an MSDC Dancer, various positions in LEO Club, the president of Renaissance Club, the president of Aevidum, the Operations and Entertainment Chairman for Mini-THON, the treasurer of Key Club, a junior class officer, in NHS, and the Multimedia Editor in Blueprint. I have learned that things won’t always go the way you intended and that’s okay. Don’t stress for 5 seconds on something that won’t matter in 5 years. I really should have learned that my freshman year. To my underclassman, learn yourself and be comfortable with who you are not. High school changes people in ways you can’t imagine. Be who you are through everything! Put your faith in God: he got me through a lot of hard times… Stand up for the little guys even if it makes your life a little harder: they need someone. After 4 years at BAHS, I’m most proud of being a part of a lot of great things that happened in the community. I will miss working with everyone to make things happen here. If I could go back to freshman year, I would definitely have been more cautious with who I associated myself with. I could have had a more positive freshman/sophomore year if I did. I would also have put a little more time into my grades…but I finished in top 20 sooo lol. My favorite teacher was Mrs.Stinson because she was a positive role model. I know I could go and talk to her any time. I found that we were a lot alike in our way of thinking too. I also was close with her kids while working with Renaissance and I will forever cherish those little ones. She truly is a wonderful person and if you get the chance sit down and talk with her, you won’t regret it. My favorite memory was definitely mini-THON both years because we accomplished so much and I’m so proud of BA OR it was taking pictures for the Blueprint at the 2019 girls state game and being able to see and talk to my sister in the biggest game of her life, that was super awesome! 🙂 I didn’t really have best friends but special people in my heart were Tyson Irvin- she was always 100% real with me, Riley D’Angelo- cracked me up and there was no project we couldn’t get an A on, and Alex Roberts- made senior year unforgettable. If we were to have an actual time capsule, I would put my big notebook of all the events, the schedules, the notes, the people, the places because any time we had an event at school you could see me rushing around with it in my hand. Without that notebook I would have been a mess in high school. Seriously….

There were so many highs and lows but I did it. If I could go back to freshman year I would probably change everything. If I could start over, I would do it all differently. My favorite teacher was Coach Lovrich because he really takes the time to get to know his students and players. My favorite memory was seeing Lovrich get excited when he found out running backs could get pancake blocks against Juniata Valley and a couple games after that. My best friend was Clay Engle. I have learned how to avoid putting thought into the negative things that are said about me and how to avoid problems. I’ve also learned how to be successful: do it yourself. If you want to learn something specific, you have to teach yourself. To my underclassman, treat Sophia right! Also, don’t let people talk you into being someone else. After 4 years at BAHS, I’m most proud of my outside accomplishments like PJAS, YEA, and BJC. They have pushed me beyond my limits and they planted the seeds that will define my future career. If I could go back to freshman year I would have gotten more involved in school clubs. My favorite teacher was Mrs.Flarend because I love her teaching style and we can talk about higher physics together. My favorite memories were at YEA and BJC. My best friends were Zion Poe and Caden Nagle because they were the most influential and they’ve been with me through all the years no matter what. If we were to have an actual time capsule, I would put in a pair of headphones because I’m a lover of music and I’m a quiet guy.

N. Benjamin Nofsker

In my 4 years at BAHS, I was in Blueprint and Aevidum. I have learned that life is only how you see it. Your journey through high school is only as good as you make it. I’ve also learned a lot about myself, so much so that I feel like a new person. To my underclassman, don’t let your urge to leave be your driving force. You need to focus and work to graduate. After 4 years at BAHS, I’m most proud of how much I’ve grown as a person because my 8th grade self was completely different. If I could go back to freshman year I would change the classes I took to help with my eventual career. My favorite teacher was Mrs.Flarend because she has helped me so much with life and school I could never repay her for her help. My best friend was Lordin Williams because she is my favorite. She has had such a profound effect of my life. If we were to have an actual time capsule, I would put in technology because I am pretty good at teach stuff and most of my friends say the same.

Makayla Shanae Pluebell

In my 4 years at BAHS, I was in Art Club, LEO Club, Yearbook, and Softball. I was never really consistent in any of them though. I have learned about self respect, kindness, patience,, and that a person can have 3 mental breakdowns and still smile. I have also learned my goals and self-worth. To my underclassman, no one really pays attention to how you move, that’s a lie, but seriously do what you want to do and ignore others opinions. It’s no one’s business but yours. Also, let others be.  After 4 years at BAHS, I’m most proud that I am graduating with the same people I have known and grown up with since kindergarten. I’m so excited to see everyone succeed especially because our class has had a huge impact on the community. If I could go back to freshman year I wouldn’t have taken my free time for granted and would’ve tried out for more things like cheerleading and pushed myself. I wouldn’t have made excuses. I don’t have a favorite teacher. They are all amazing, truly. Our staff is so kind and they all melt my heart. We should never treat them badly. My favorite memories were definitely at football games. My best friend was Alexis Halverson, I love that girl to death. She has pushed me past my limits and we both want the best for each other. I love everyone though, be kind always! If we were to have an actual time capsule, I wouldn’t know what to put in. We went from Webkinz to silly bands to squishies to adulting way too fast. I would definitely like to put all our childhood memories in the time capsule.

Zion Michael Poe

I have no favorite teachers, memories, or people…. it was all great. If we were to have an actual time capsule, I would put in food. I love food.

After 4 years at BAHS, I’m most proud of mini-THON. Everyone was shown that BA is capable of radical, great feats. If I could go back to freshman year I would have pushed myself harder to show myself I could move mountains and overcome it all. My favorite teacher was Christine Claar because I aspire to be that kind. My favorite memory was mini-THON, it was a great effort and achievement. If we were to have an actual time capsule, I would put in a small but impactful item, like a flower or a picture.

If you do, you’ll enjoy every bit of high school and the time with go by super quick. So, take it all in and enjoy it while it lasts. After 4 years at BAHS, I’m most proud of my hard work. I worked hard in all my sports and worked to have good grades. I’m proud of myself for keeping that up all 4 years. If I could go back to freshman year I would have started track sooner instead of baseball. My favorite teacher was Mr.Crowell because he is laid back and makes his class enjoyable. My favorite memory was meeting the best friends in the world and having the time of our lives.  If we were to have an actual time capsule, I would put in a lunch box because I would always eat my lunch at random times and that’s what I would want to remember.

After 4 years at BAHS, I’m most proud of being able to express myself w/out judgement of others. In such a small town, studying languages is almost frowned upon. Despite that, I continued to study. I was never afraid to wear what I wanted either. I’m proud of me. If I could go back to freshman year I would have applied myself more and not missed so much school. My favorite teacher was Mr.McMinn- he’s the most intelligent and informed teacher in this district. He has also helped me figure out my career path! To my underclassman, believe everything I said above because I was told the same stuff and didn’t listen. After 4 years at BAHS, I’m most proud of graduating and getting accepted into college. After 4 years at BAHS I’m most proud of beating the single season 3 point record for Bellwood my last shot of my senior year. If I could go back to freshman year I would change “a lot”- 21 Savage. My favorite teacher was Mr.Crowell or Mrs.Stinson because both are very easy to talk to and both are great teachers. My favorite memory was Jason Shade falling in the middle of a shop test sophomore year. Funniest thing I’ve ever seen! If we were to have an actual time capsule, I would put in a basketball because it’s the only thing I ever loved about high school.
