HOLIDAY-ISH: National Chocolate Cupcake Day
It’s a holiday dedicated to a tasty treat.
Oh yeah, The pinnacle of my writing career, National Cupcake day. But not just any cupcake day, Chocolate Cupcake Day! This day of all days is pretty simple to enjoy, just go bake a chocolate cupcake, or buy one, your choice.
Did you know that cupcakes are also called fairy cakes and patty cakes? I didn’t. Did you know that cupcakes can be traced back to as early as 1796, when a recipe notation of “a cake to be baked in small cups” was written by Amelia Simmons in the book American Cookery? If you knew that, you probably won Jeopardy, cause I couldn’t guess that if I tried.
While my personal favorite cupcake is chocolate, I understand some people are allergic to bread or chocolate. So just celebrate this holiday however you can, but at least have a cupcake, or not, I’m not your mom.
