Aiden Taylor is having a very good year so far as a standout for Bellwood-Antis on the wrestling mat.

Taylor is currently 17-2 heading into the Ultimate Warrior tournament this weekend, wrestling in the 152-pound and 160-pound weight class. This tournament is usually a pretty good indicator on how someone would do at the District 6 tournament.

Taylor, who has 10 pins this season, said he is hoping to place higher than he did last year.

Districts is also a big thought on wrestlers minds now, and Taylor said he had high hopes in his junior season.

“I think that I will make it through districts and get to regional’s,” he said.

Taylor has been wrestling for six years now and has a overall varsity record of 35-13 with 16 career pins.

The wrestling team, meanwhile, is currently 9-5 and 2-2 in the ICC. The Devils two have meets left and they are all at home.

The District tournament will be February 14 and 15 at the Altoona  Area High school Field House.
