Blue Devils get ready for Black Knights
October 14, 2022
Tonight Bellwood-Antis travels up the mountain to Moshannon Valley to take on the Black Knights. Bellwood-Antis is 5-2 and 5-1 in the conference. Bellwood-Antis is coming off of two consecutive wins, their last against Mount Union.
Moshannon Valley is 3-4 coming off a huge 41-14 win against Curwensville.
As the regular season comes to a close, the next three games for the Blue Devils are some of the most important games for playoff rankings. Bellwood-Antis is currently in 2nd place in the district 6 2A. Mo Valley is in 8th place in the 1A rankings.
Head Coach Nick Lovrich says Mo Valley will be a challenge, especially now that Tanner Kephart is in at quarterback.
“Their quarterback now is a little bit faster than what they have had in previous weeks. We have had to play tough quarterbacks the past three weeks, and their quarterback will fall in that trend. Offensively we will have to keep moving the ball and drive down the field,” Coach Lovrich said.
Against Curwensville, Kephart had 156 yards rushing and 41 passing.
Bellwood-Antis struggled on the offensive side last week, only going for a total of 263 yards. Moshannon Valley was able to put up over 400 yards against the Golden Tide. Bellwood-Antis’ defense has been able to shut down every team they have played. Holding teams to small amounts of yards and very little points for the past weeks.
