Carter Rettig will be attending American University next fall, which is a private school in Washington DC.

Carter plans to major in “international relations” and would like to use that degree for something in intelligence or foreign diplomacy after he graduates.

Loving the location of the school wasn’t the only deciding factor in Carters decision of attending American University, as it is also in the top 10 schools in the country for his major.

Carter is excited to get out of Bellwood, “I’m excited to have and experience college in Washington DC,” he said.

“The cost is a bit intimidating but I’m confident we’ll make it out okay.”

Carter already visited the campus, as well as continuing to apply for scholarships.

Carters long term goal for college is to just graduate, but he has some things he would like to do along the way.

“I’d like to study abroad and make a lot of connections throughout my 4 years,” he said.
