Bellwood’s Home Economics Club has been preparing for this years Elementary Christmas Craft show by baking cookies to sell.

Over the past two months, the club has been meeting up weekly to bake different types of cookies such as sugar, chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, as well as brownies.

It was fun.

Club members Sophia Caporuscio, James “Jimmy” Coccia, Jocelyn Diehl, Nathan Hatch, Morgan Kienzle, Abbygail Laird, Drew Lang, Cody Langfurn, and Kate Wallace all were a part of the baking process.

”It touched hearts to make cookies for the kids,” said Drew.

The cookies will be sold in bags of four for just one dollar at the event this Saturday, December 2nd, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Myers Elementary School. Learn more about the craft show here.

”We plan to donate the funds we get from the cookies to local organizations,” commented Valarie Harris, the supervisor of the club and Bellwood’s Home Economics teacher.

Ms. Harris has discussed using the money to purchase items for Key Club’s Warmth Drive. Winter hats, gloves, warm socks, blankets, sleeping bags, and hand warmers are among what the club might donate to help the homeless in our community.

If you or anybody you know wants to donate to the drive as well, drop all donations off in the BAHS Guidance Office.
