Students in the Bellwood-Antis Middle School, will be participating in Red Ribbon Week, the nation’s largest and longest-running drug-use prevention campaign. Festivities will take place Monday, October 28th through the 31st. This year’s theme is, “Life is a movie, film drug free”. Students are encouraged to show their support to live a drug free life by wearing their pajamas on Monday, a costume on Tuesday, neon on Wednesday, and their favorite sports team on Thursday. In addition, there will be “tickets” to color and pledge forms students can complete outside of the Media Center.
Our social worker, Mrs. Young, said, “Red Ribbon week is important at Bellwood Middle -School, we want to empower our students to not do drugs.” Student council advisor, Mrs. Burns, excitedly shared ,“Since Spirit Week and Red Ribbon Week happen to be at the same time, the student council members got to work with the guidance office to plan the theme days. In addition to the theme days, the student council will also sponsor Homeroom Wars! The ONE homeroom with the most sports clothing (hats, shirts, hoodies, pants at collegiate or professional levels) will win pizza or ice-cream.”
BAMS is proud to wear red ribbons!
