Every year our favorites A-list artists gather together to celebrate those who won awards for the most popular and favorited albums and songs. This year we saw artist like Kendrick Lamar win a total of 5 Grammys for his diss track “Not Like Us” which was released during his feud with Canadian rapper Drake. We also saw summer sensation Sabrina Carpenter win two awards for her “Short n’ Sweet” album and female rapper Doechii become the third ever woman to win that award. However, with all of these win’s fans are not pleased with the outcome of this highly anticipated award show.
Fans all over were expecting wins from all of their favorite artists but one artist we were not expecting to win was none other than long time singer/ songwriter Beyoncé to take home not only Album of the Year and Best Country Duo/ Group Performance but also Best Country Album. This is a shock to many, and some say that singer/songwriter Billie Eilish. who was nominated for 7 Grammy Awards, was robbed of recognition for her album “HIT ME HARD AND SOFT” that was released back in May 2024 and accumulated over 69 billion streams globally. Along with this devastating loss for fans a video began circulating of Billie Eilish crying at the end award show. Everyone knows that after award shows fan tend to argue and advocate for their favorite artist usually in the form of a comment section, and of course this is exactly what was going to happen causing singer/ songwriter Finneas (also Billie Eilish’s brother) to post on his Instagram story congratulating the other artists stating:
” Great Grammy’s!!!! So honored to be nominated amongst so many amazing songs/ albums”
He continued his statement by saying: “I don’t want to see ANYONE with a photo of me or Billie as their PFP gettin’ in fights with other artists fans in comment sections!!!”
With all of this controversy over Beyonce’s wins and Billie’s losses the jaw dropping moments do not stop there. Kanye West (Ye) appeared at the Grammys with his wife Bianca Censori who was seen wearing an all black fur coat matching her husbands all black look and lack of expression. Kanye takes pride in designing outfits for his wife and ex-wife Kim Kardashian, so this outfit is without a doubt his doing. Bianca Censori removed her coat to reveal a lack of an outfit altogether, wearing nothing but a sheer mini dress while still wearing an expressionless alongside her rapper husband leading them to be escorted out of the event by security. Many fans speculated if the rapper and wife were even invited to the award show when they were seen walking on the red carpet though he was nominated for the 2025 award for Best Rap Song however, executive producer Raj Kapoor told PEOPLE Magazine that there were no seats inside for the couple despite be in the list of nominees. Biancas outfit raised concerns for many watchers with some asking if she is safe. This question still being unanswered the pair continue to be controversial.
The 2025 Grammys is surely one to remember especially for fans. We saw great wins for our favorite artists and on the rise performers that are topping charts along with losses for fan favorites. Each year carries a different crazy moment but fortunately I don’t think we’ll see any more of those moments from West.
