The Lady Devils rebounded from a tough loss with a big win over Mo Valley.

The Bellwood-Antis girls’ basketball team manhandled the Moshannon Valley Damsels last night with a final score of 71-21.

On pace to score 124 points after the first quarter, Bellwood’s scoring slowed down but the defensive pressure held up. Forcing steal after steal with a daunting full-court press, the Lady Devils were able to get easy transition buckets.

In the last 2 quarters, B-A held the Damsels to an underwhelming 4 points. Yes, you heard that right, 4 points!

It was a strong rebound performance for B-A, which lost its first ICC game in four years Friday, falling to Juniata Valley.

Karson Swogger paced Bellwood with 27 points.

Coming off the bench, Abbey Crider added 10 points for the Lady Devils.

The girls’ basketball team evened its’ record up at 2-2 with the win.

The Bellwood-Antis wrestling team also competed last night losing 78-6 to the West Branch Warriors.

Nate Claar was the only bright spot for the Devils, winning on a pin and breaking up the shutout.

“I’m pleased with my performance, but I know I have some things to work on,” said Claar. “I’ll just keep taking every opportunity to make myself better.”

The boys’ record fell to 0-2 with the loss.
