SPORTS ROUNDUP: volleyball team gets back on track

Abby Luensmann led B-A with a huge 15 service points including 8 aces , and added 26 assists in a four-set win for the Lady Blue Devils over Williamsburg on Tuesday.

Bellwood-Antis lost the first set 23-25, and won the next three with scores of 25-14, 25-13, and 25, 13.

Sophie Damiano also added eight service points, 15 kills, and 11 digs for B-A.

The Lady Devils needed a bounce-back win after falling last week t ICC rival West Branch, and they got exactly that.

Also, the Jayvee Volleyball team won in straight sets to improve its record to four wins and one loss.

Girls soccer continues to struggle

The Tyrone/B-A girls soccer team lost 6-1 to Bellefonte Tuesday at home in Tyrone.

Riley D’Angelo scored the lone goal for Lady Eagles.

The Lady Eagles are now 2-4 in the Mountain League.

Tennis team falls to Lady Cats

Huntingdon won over Tyrone/Bellwood-Antis in tennis 5-2 on Tuesday.

B-A junior Tina Hollen and Lindsey Walk won singles matches for the Lady Eagles.

Hollen won in straight sets, while Tyrone’s Lindsey Walk won 7-6, (9-7), 6-3.

Boys soccer falls

Tyrone/Bellwood-Antis boys’ soccer lost to Bellefonte 5-2 on the road on Monday.

The score was 3-1 going into the half with one goal scored by B-A sophomore Alex Schmoke before the half.

In the second half, B-A freshman Corey Johnston was yellow carded.

Schmoke would score again in the second but it wouldn’t make a difference because Bellefonte scored twice more.

“It was a tough loss, but we need to focus at practice and be ready for Bald Eagle on Wednesday,” said Johnston.
