B-A tries to stay unbeaten at home on Homecoming
Devils will take on No. 7 Moshannon Valley
September 23, 2016
After an impressive 26-8 triumph over Everett last week at home, improving their record to 3-1 the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils now have their sights set on this week’s opponent: the 3-1 Black Knights of Moshannon Valley.
The Blue Devils will look to continue their success at home this season as they are 2-0 at home and have outscored their opponents 74-15 while playing at Memorial Stadium. Tonight is also Homecoming at B-A.
B-A tried to solidify their rushing attack last week with 33 rushing attempts but could only muster up 103 yards which translated into just 3.1 yards per carry.
This could be a major problem going forward for the Blue Devils, as this seems to be the biggest weak spot for a team who overall looks like they can make a deep run in this year’s district playoffs if they can patch up some issues.
One area that’s not an issue is the passing game.
Bellwood-Antis’s senior quarterback Jarrett Taneyhill continues to tear opposing defenses apart.
Taneyhill broke the school record for most passing yards in a game last week as he threw for 258 yards he also added two touchdowns for good measure. On the season he has completed 52 of 87 passes for 930 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Moshannon Valley will roll into Bellwood tonight as the seventh ranked team in single-A in the state according to the Pennsylvania Football News.
Mo Valley’s success this season lies in the hands of quarterback Curtis Neff and running back Jake Murawski, two seniors who have combined for 16 of the team’s 17 touchdowns.
However B-A’s defense will look to take advantage of Neff’s carelessness with the ball as he as thrown six interceptions already this year.
Tonight Bellwood-Antis or Moshannon Valley will emerge as the power house of the ICC.
Aside with the action going on the field B-A will crown its Homecoming queen at halftime.
