The Lady Devils basketball team won its third game in a row in the home opener last night, winning 80-56 despite only leading by 5 at halftime against scrappy Claysburg-Kimmel.

The Lady Devils out-gunned the Lady bulldogs for almost 50 points in the second half to pull off the 24-point win and improve to a record of 4-2.

Even though B-A struggled to hit all of its shots in the first half and Claysburg seemed to be making everything, the Lady Devils buckled down defensively and the shots started to fall.

B-A pulled away outscoring Claysburg 48-29 in the second half.

The Lady Blue Devils were lead by a surging senior Karson Swogger, who ended the game scoring 27 points.  Freshman Alli Campbell also came up big for B-A, putting in 20 points and pulling down 12 rebounds.  Sophomore Riley D’Angelo chipped in for a helpful 11 points.

The Lady Blue Devils next game will be December 28 against Penn Cambria in the Tyrone Kiwanis holiday tournament.

It’s possible that a win in the first round could set up a finals matchup against rival Tyrone.
