On Tuesday, the B-A girls basketball team lost hard to Altoona, but last night they rebounded to defeat Bishop McCort in the consolation game of the Jaffa Shrine Tournament, 71-54.

The game put the Lady Devils in third place.

Alli Campbell led the team with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Sakeria Haralson also had a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. She led the team in rebounding.

BA was up 14-13 after the first quarter. By the end of the half the girls extended 30-21. They blew the game open in the second half, outscoring McCourt 21-9 in the third quarter.

The team improves to 2-1.

“We struggled the first quarter but controlled the rest of the game. Everyone played hard and together,” said junior Riley D’Angelo.

Senior Tina Hollen said the team responded well after a tough loss.

“I think we did well. We were all pretty bummed after losing to Altoona. But knowing we would play Bishop McCourt the next day got us hyped and got the job done,” she said.

B-A will now try to get the job done at Everett in an ICC game.
