The Bellwood-Antis Lady Blue Devils beat West Middlesex 70-53 Tuesday night at Plum High School.

Alli Campbell dominated the game on offense with 34 points on 56% shooting from the field while dishing out 6 assists, she did it on defense too with 6 rebounds, 6 steals, and 2 blocks.

Riley D’Angelo was the second leading scorer with 18 points followed by Emilie Leidig with 11. BA never trailed at the end of any quarter and after amounting a ten point lead in the first quarter the Lady Devils never looked back.

Out of character of the typical three heavy offense Bellwood-Antis only cashed in on 4 of their 15 three point attempts, the last game BA hit less than 5 threes was when they made two against Blairsville in a District VI loss.

The difference this time was the penetration, the Lady Devils were getting to the basket with ease especially Campbell who scored 26 of her points getting to the rim and five points from the charity stripe. Haralson dominated the glass with nine rebounds and accumulated six takeaways, the entire BA squad totaled 20 steals and only turned the ball over nine times throughout the night.

Since losing to Blairsville BA has been out for blood beating the last two teams by 19 and 17 points, respectively. It can be said that the tough loss might have lit a fire under the Devils and is now fueling the girls late playoff push.

Some of the motivation might be that Blairsville is on their side of the bracket and there could be a possible final four rematch between the two squads, but BA has to get through Chartiers-Houston in the Elite 8. The game is set for  tomorrow night at Greater Johnstown High at 6:00 p.m.
