Yesterday, Bellwood-Antis brought out its big guns to defeat the Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs by a score of 16-1 and improved to 3-0 overall.

The boys went up 1-0 at the top of the first inning, but it would take until the fourth until the onslaught started for B-A. The Blue Devils scored 7 runs to increase their lead to 8-0. After another run at the top of the sixth inning, Jack Showalter hit a three-run home run to seal the win.

“It was a high fast ball. I was already on two strikes, so I choked up on my bat, and I just belted it into the bleachers,” Showalter said.

Bellwood-Antis will play the (0-3) West Branch Warriors Friday.

Softball shut-out 11-0

Also playing against Claysburg-Kimmel, the Lady Blue Devils ran into a much better team at home last night in an 11-0 loss to the Lady Bulldogs.

B-A pitcher, Haley Schmidt struck-out three batters, but even that couldn’t sway the game in favor of the Lady Blue Devils, as they were struck-out nine times.

The Lady Blue Devils will travel to West Branch on Friday to face the Lady Warriors.
