Who knew that the B-A girls basketball team would be honored in so many ways after winning the state championship?

It’s been a whirlwind of excitement, and it will continue into May.

On Sunday, May 6 at 2 p.m. the members of the girls basketball team will be recognized at an Altoona Curve baseball game at People’s Natural Gas Field in Altoona.

The event will be called Bellwood-Antis Girls Basketball Night at the Curve. The players will be introduced to the crowd and watch a video tribute presented on the big screen. Any fan who wants to see the girls being recognized would need to be at the ballpark by 1:15 p.m.

“We are excited to honor the girl’s basketball team here at the Curve for their great season! We always like to acknowledge and recognize big accomplishments in our community,” said Curve Director of Community Relations Emily Rosencrants. “Any time one of our area schools brings home a state championship it deserves to be celebrated.”

Any Bellwood-Antis girls basketball fans who make a reservation will sit together in the grandstand section of the stadium. Tickets can be purchased directly from the Curve for $5.

Reservations will be accepted up until Wednesday, May 2. You need to complete a form and attach your check payable to Altoona Curve and mail back to the Altoona Curve, 1000 Park Ave, Altoona PA. 16602 with the notation “Attn: Nathan Bowen-Bellwood-Antis” marked on the envelope.
