7th and 8th graders viewed a presentation about engineering

On April 20, 2018, students from the Pennsylvania State University came to the middle school to interest 7th and 8th grade students in engineering. The BAMS students went to a presentation during first period to hopefully open their eyes to a future career path. The presentation was sponsored by the Penn State Engineering Department and covered a multitude of engineering jobs that one could do, from designing cars of the future to genetically engineering crops. Instead of having “regular” science class, the 7th and 8th graders had the chance to take part in hands-on STEM activities with the engineering students.

The Penn State engineering students and our science teachers hope that students will consider a career in engineering after watching the presentation and using the engineering process to complete STEM activities.
