SPORTS ROUNDUP: Girls soccer defeats Penns Valley

The Tyrone/Bellwood-Antis Lady Eagles won a thriller yesterday against Penns Valley with a score of 2-1.

Tyrone scored first unassisted in the 51st minute with a goal by senior Riley D’Angelo to put them up 1-0

Penns Valleys scored in the second half to tie it up 1-1.

The Lady Eagles played hard and physical, eventually getting Penns Valley to foul  D’Angelo and set her up with a free kick.

D’Angelo scored the game winner, bringing her season total to four and lifting the team to its first win of the season.

VOLLEYBALL

The Lady Devils volleyball team defeated the Lady Pirates last night Williamsburg, winning the first 3 sets and getting to leave a little early.

The Devils played an excellent game last night, winning the first set 25-8.

Sophomore Sicily Yingling really stepped up, playing the whole game and leading the team with 2 digs.

In the second set B-A let the Pirates get a couple more points but still dominated the match, 25-12.

Sakeria Haralson, a junior, helped the team with 12 kills.  Sydney Lechner led the team with 16 service points, followed by Yingling who gave the team a total of 15 service points.

Lechner had a total of 17 assists last night, as well.

Going into the third set up 2-0, B-A had high hopes, and got the sweep, winning 25-17.
