Junior Alex Dunlap and Senior Jordan Rachael are two out of twenty-four new National Technical Honor Society inductees at the Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center.  All the new inductees will be honored at a dinner and induction ceremony this week.

A student must hold a 93% average or more for a marking period and have less than ten advents to be recommended by a teacher.

“It makes me feel honored because a lot of kids do not apply themselves,” said Junior Alex Dunlap.

“You’ve got to apply yourself and get good grades. It’s a three part system: work ethic, knowledge, and skill.”

Jordan is enrolled in the drafting and design program. She plans to go to college, possibly Penn State, on a five-year program for architecture.

“It shows the effort that some of the people put into the work they do,” said Jordan. “It shows how they could improve in that occupational field, because what we do at school is what we’re actually going to do.”
