The Bellwood-Antis Lady Blue Devils continued their dominance over Tyrone and the Reliance Bank Holiday Tournament Saturday, taking home the championship hardware with a 50-47 victory over the Lady Eagles at the Tyrone Area High School gymnasium.

The Blue Devil basketball team, one night off its upset win over Hollidaysburg, fell in the boys championship game to Tyrone 77-27.

For the Lady Devils, it was their second victory over the Lady Eagles this month. The teams have staged two classics, with B-A coming from behind in the first half three weeks ago to beat Tyrone before overcoming first-half foul troubles to win a squeaker on Saturday.

B-A star guard Alli Campbell was saddled with three fouls in the first half, and Tyrone took advantage. The Lady Eagles led 12-8 after the first quarter, but like their game earlier this month they found a way to get ahead by one at halftime with a 20-19 lead.

B-A went ahead 35-28 at the end of the third before holding off a Tyrone rally in the fourth to claim another Reliance title.

Campbell still managed to finish as B-A’s leading scorer with a game-high 21. Emilie Leidig scored 12, while Riley D’Angelo hit a pair of big threes and finished with eight. The Lady Devils improved to 6-2.

The Blue Devils, meanwhile, fell behind early and never recovered. Tyrone led 21-9 after the first quarter and 41-16 at halftime.

The Golden Eagles once again did a number on the Devils defensively, limiting B-A to single-digit scoring in all four quarters. In the team’s meeting earlier this month, Tyrone limited the Devils to single-digit scoring in three quarters in a 63-18 win.

Nathan Wolfe led B-A, which dropped to 3-3, with 10.
