Baseball team improves to 3-0

Lauren Heisler won the open 800 and ran a leg of the winning 3200 relay team yesterday in Hollidaysburg.

Last evening the Bellwood boy’s baseball team took on West Branch at their home turf, the Devils came out with another victory 8-3.

The Devils are on a 2-game win streak this season, Mark Stewart help lead the devils to victory, registering the win in his first start of the season.

Senior, Alex Schmoke and Junior, John Kost each added 2 hits for the devils to help them get the victory.  Sophomore, Nick Plank led the team last night with 3 hits and doing an outstanding job behind the plate.

The Devils face Tyrone today in a battle of two 2-0 teams.

TRACK TEAMS SPLIT

The Bellwood-Antis girls and boys track and field teams split two meets Thursday, losing to Hollidaysburg while defeating Bishop Guilfoyle at Golden Tiger Stadium.

The boys 400-meter relay team was the overall winner with a time of 45.73, Shawn Wolfe won the 200-meter run, Dylan Wilson won the boys 110-meter hurdles, and Joe Wertz won both the shot put and discuss.

On the girls side, Paige Wenner was the overall winner in the 100 meter dash, Lauren Heisler won the 800 meter run, and she was a member of the winning 3200 relay team.

SOFTBALL TEAM SEEKING FIRST WIN

The softball team was left looking for an elusive first win of the season yesterday, falling to West Branch 12-1.

Haley Schmidt had two hits for the Lady Devils, which dropped to 0-3.

B-A surrendered 10 runs in the second inning and lost by 10-run rule for the second straight game.
