The Bellwood-Antis Lady Blue Devils softball team won their first game this season with a blowout victory of 10-0 against Altoona Area Lady Mountain Lions on Monday.

Bellwood’s Haley Schmidt pitched a no-hitter to secure a win in 4 ½ innings. She struck out eight batters, walked 2, and scored a run to add to her dominant performance.

Sophomore Attie Poorman was 3-4 with an RBI while senior Ashtyn Payne scored 3 runs. Jestelynn Heaton and Krystina Taylor both drove in runs for Bellwood.

Bellwood-Antis scored 2 runs in the first innings then added 5 more runs in the second inning. They scored 3 runs in the third inning that sealed the deal for Bellwood.

They will take on Mount Union Tuesday at 4:15 at Mount Union.
