Track teams topple Southern Huntingdon

Kaelynn Behrens took first in long and high jump on Tuesday.

The Bellwood-Antis boys and girls track teams both beat Southern Huntington yesterday at home.

Sophomores Joe Wertz and Zach Mallon both came in first in 2 of their events. Zach Mallon won both the long jump and the high jump while Joe Wertz won both the shot put and discus.

Bellwood dominated the 200 meter and 400-meter dash winning both events with Junior Evan Frye winning the 400-meter and Senior Shawn Wolfe winning the 200-meter.

B-A boys had 28 place winners in yesterday’s meet and, in the shot put, event Bellwood won 1st,2nd, and 3rd place. Joe Wertz took first-place with Dominic Tornatore taking second-place and Evan Pellegrine taking the third-place spot.

Bellwood-Antis girls had a dominant performance from Junior Jamyson Focht and Senior Kaelynn Behrens. Focht won 100 and 300-meter hurdles while Kaelynn won the high jump and long jump.

Jenna Bartlett came in first in two of her events. She got the top spot in the 1600-meter run and the 3200-meter run.

Both the boys and girls track team advance to a 2-2 record on the year.
