Raela Zuiker is excelling on the clarinet in band.

This week’s artist of the week is freshman Raela Zuiker. Raela has been playing the Clarinet for six years, but she also plays the saxophone and the baritone saxophone.

Participating in the band at Bellwood has allowed her to pursue her dream and helped her make new friends. Over the years, Zuiker has had many accomplishments including the first chair at Indiana University Pennsylvania, Frostburg Honors band, and Junior High county band.

“After high school, I want to continue my dream of being in a band and hopefully be a part of the Penn State Blue Band. I would also want to eventually become a music director,” said Zuiker.

With a month left of this school year,  Raela plans on trying to work on harder, more advanced pieces.

Band teacher Mr. Sachse has enjoyed having Raela a part of the band.

Raela is a responsible and dedicated student. She excels at clarinet and is taking up the saxophone. She plays in every ensemble and honor festival available to her. It’s great to have students in the program like Raela, who even at a young age held herself to a high standard and sets a great playing example for her peers,” said Mr. Sachse.
