Last Thursday  the B-A Blue Devils took to the road to play the Juniata Valley Hornets in Alexandria.

The Devils fell 9-2 to the Hornets after beating them at home 14-4.

Once again, errors killed B-A. The team had a combined total of 7 errors throughout 7 innings.

Bellwood’s pitching wasn’t what it has been either. Coach Steve Conlon pitched three pitchers against Juniata Valley in Caden Nagel, Mark Stewart, and Alex Schmoke. They combined for 6 total walks.

Only two of the Hornets’ runs were earned.

The Devils actually held a 2-1 lead in the third before giving up three runs in the bottom of the frame. The Hornets put the game away in the sixth with four runs.

B-A only had 4 hits in the game which added to their tough loss.

The Blue Devils dipped to 10-6 overall and 8-3 in the ICC. The loss dropped them from a first-place tie with Mount Union into a second place tie with Claysburg-Kimmel.
