The Blue Devils put on an offensive show  last Friday night at Memorial Stadium for the homecoming crowd, winning 48-0 in their ICC game against the Moshannon Valley Black Knights for their third shutout of the season.

B-A improved to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the ICC. The Knights fell to 1-4 and 1-4.

Junior Nick Plank started the party off late in the first quarter with one of his 3 rushing touchdowns in the game. He would carry nine times for 114 yards.

The second quarter was highlight by a 65 yard tip and run by sophomore linebacker Cooper Guyer, which would later turn into 6 points on a rushing touchdown from junior Zach Mallon.

B-A led 27-0 at halftime.

The final two quarters consisted of rushing touchdowns by John Kost and Nick Plank, as well as an impressive punt return by junior Connor Gibbons.

The Blue Devils were clearly the dominant team in this game as they only allowed a total of 143 yards to the 373 they posted themselves. Two hundred fourth-two of those came on the ground.  The Black Knights couldn’t get things going their way, especially in the red zone, where BA was able to stop them successfully 3 out of 3 times.

Senior Joseph Bacher, Mo Valleys main weapon on offense who entered the game with a pair of 300-yard performances to his credit, wasn’t able to find the holes in the Bellwood defense. With this lack of productivity, the Black Knights loss any momentum throughout the game. They now prepare to face Williamsburg next week, as the Devils hit the road and head up to Northern Bedford.

Alli Campbell was named the 2019 Homecoming queen at halftime, while Jamyson Focht was the runner-up.
