B-A Preps For Panthers
The 3-2 Panthers of Northern Bedford will host the hot 5-0 Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils tonight in an out-of-conference matchup.
Both teams are coming off of shutout wins last, with B-A defeating Moshannon Vallley 48-0 and Northern Bedford topping Everett 27-0.
The Panthers performance last week included 161 total offensive yards with 3 passing touchdowns from junior quarterback Thad Leidy. Junior running back Dalton Smith added to the Panther offensive dominance with 93 yards on 19 carries. Northern Bedford’s defense only allowed 15 yards and added an interception to top the defensive cause.
Needless to say, B-A is not taking the Panthers lightly.
“We need to respect our opponents and study the film. If we focus and play like we know we can, we should be alright,” said senior Evan Pellegrine.
For the Devils, their 48-0 win included 7 touchdowns, with 6 of them coming from Juniors Nick Plank and Zach Mallon. Senior quarterback Trevor Miller put up 131 yards on 5-of-7 attempts while adding a passing touchdown.
“I’m feeling pretty good about this week. Every week our team practices like it’s the state championship. I think we are going to go and play our hearts out,” said, senior quarterback Trevor Miller.
On defense, the Devils limited their opponent to 143 yards while grabbing two interceptions. B-A has three shutouts this season and is allowing only 10 points per game.
