The Tyrone/Bellwood-Antis girls co-op soccer team secured a huge Mountain League win last night, as they snuck away with a 4-3 double-overtime win over   Bellefonte.

Bellwood-Antis sophomore Sophia Nelson score the game-winner with 1:48 left on the clock.  Sophia had a big game for the Golden Eagles, also assisting on the first goal of the game.

“This is a big win for our program. While we are a young team, we have been playing extremely well lately and it accumulated in tonight’s win.  I think the girls will get a big boost of confidence from the result,” said Coach Mike Sparacino.

Chloe LaRosa, Eliza Vance and Kendall Markley also had goals for Tyrone.

The Golden Eagles came into the game after a big 9-0 win over Philipsburg-Osceola last week, and they seem to be building up some momentum heading into the end of the season.

The co-op team’s current record is 4-10 heading into the final couple of games, and they look to find a way to get a boost into the playoffs.
