Last night, the wrestling team beat Everett at home with a score of 54-24.

Pins on the night came from Alex (160) and Aiden Taylor (152), Nick Kost (126), and Zach Cunningham (182).

Xander Shank (132) and Landon Bungo (145) also picked up decisions.

“I thought that all of our guys wrestled well. Even the guys who lost did some good things,” said B-A coach Tim Andrekovich. “Nick and Xander started off the match with a pin and a solid win. For first year varsity wrestlers, they do a really nice job along with Jason (Pluebell). Alex and Aiden look tough, again.  Zach probably wrestled his best match of the year. Landon was really tough on top. He rode the guy out the entire third period. I like how the guys are wrestling.”

Forfeits came into play last night at 106, 113, 120,and 285.

The team is now 8-3 with their next match being Tuesday at Tussey Mountain.

“We are pushing each other in practice. Everyone is down to their weight,” said Coach Andrekovich. “The second half of the year is going to be more challenging. We have several tough matches coming up and the West Branch tournament at the end of the month.”
