The boys basketball team took on Tussey Mountain at home on Thursday night looking for their second win of the season. Going into the game the Blue Devils knew this would be a tough matchup.

The game came down to the wire, but the Blue Devils were able to edge out the Titans, winning 77–71, thanks to a huge game from senior Zach Miller.

Miller scored a career-high 31 points to  lead the Devils back from a 3-point halftime deficit. Miller hit three of B-A’s eight three-pointers.

The Blue Devils started the game hot as they got up double digits in the first quarter, but were outscored by 12 in the second quarter. The Titans kept it close, but the Blue Devils stepped up when they needed to and hit their shots.

A late three pointer from senior Trent Pellegrino put the icing on the cake for the Blue Devils, putting them up by 4 with about a minute left. The boys then hit a few clutch free throws to win by 6.

This was a huge team win for Bellwood. The Blue Devils had four players that scored double digits; along with Miller’s big night, Pellegrino had 20, Zach Mallon 16, and Sean Mallon 10.

This was the second straight win for the Blue Devils, bringing them to a record of 2-4.

The Blue Devils will host Claysburg on Friday night as they try to keep their win streak alive.

The game will be live-streamed on YouTube. The Varsity game will be tipping off at 7:15 PM.
