The Blue Devil basketball team traveled to Tyrone last night to take on the 12-2 Eagles.

Tyrone took the lead early in this game and their lead continued to grow as the game went on. The Eagles were up by 16 after the first quarter and ended up winning by 50. The final score was 90-40.

Tyrone played fast and created a lot of turnovers and had easy buckets in transition. Damon Gripp led the Eagles with 32 points and Jake Taylor put up 13.

Bellwood struggled with the speed and athleticism of Tyrone. The Blue Devils had a tough time creating open shots. Bellwood didn’t have anyone with more than 6 points. Connor Gibbons, Trent Pellegrino, Sean Mallon, Dalton Davis, and Zach Miller all put up 6 for the Blue Devils.

This was a rough loss for the Blue Devils, dropping them to a 6-6 record.

Bellwood is set to play Moshannon Valley at home on Friday night. The last time the Blue Devils took on the knights they beat them by 36. The boys look to have a similar result this time around.

Good luck to the boys basketball team.
