Victory appears to be the theme for this years’ Bellwood-Antis football team as they kept their winning streak rolling with an overwhelming ICC win at Glendale last Friday night.

The Devils established dominance early by amassing 35 points within the first half. Senior runningback Connor Gibbons opened the game with two scores and fullback Cooper Guyer tacked on another to make the score 21-0 after the first quarter. Brandon Cherry and junior Gaven Ridgway added two more touchdowns in the second to give B-A a comfortable lead. Gibbons would go on to get another touchdown for the Devils in the third to make the final score 42-0.

The Blue Devil defense was prominent again in this matchup, holding the Vikings to only 16 offensive yards and one first down. Head coach Nick Lovrich was impressed with his team’s performance and is looking to build of off this success

”I thought our defense played extremely well,” said Lovrich. “[Glendale] had sixteen yards of total offense and only had one first down. That takes a total team effort to accomplish that. Our goal is to get better each week and I think that has been happening.  We talk about taking care of ourselves each week and improving and I think that is what we have accomplished the last couple weeks.”

Bellwood remains undefeated with a record of 5-0, but still stands behind first-place Juniata Valley in the ICC standings, while Glendale moves to seventh in the ICC with a record of 2-3.

The Devils host Curwensville this Friday at Memorial Stadium.
