This past Saturday, the four-seed Lady Blue Devils bested the five-seed United Lions by one point at the Bellwood-Antis gymnasium in the District 6 2A quarterfinal game.

After trailing for the entirety of the first three quarters, B-A, who put up just eight points in the third quarter, flipped the switch in the fourth to score 19 points and secure the win, 52-51.

The Lady Devils’ scoring was led by junior Chelsea McCaulsky, who has played a crucial role for their offense this season. She had 21 points on the night and was a rebound shy of a double-double. Junior Lydia Worthing also made big contributions as she controlled the glass with 13 rebounds.

B-A trailed by 7 heading into the final frame before launching its comeback. The Lady Devils chipped away before taking a 46-44 lead on a basket by Jaidyn McCracken late in the game.

The Lady Devils’ next game is tonight against first seed Bishop McCort, whom the ladies have previously faced this season and lost by 11. B-A looks for redemption as they travel to Johnstown at the Crushers’ home gym.

A win tonight sends the ladies to the district championship game at Mt. Aloysius.
