Both the baseball and softball teams dropped their season openers to Mount Union.

The Bellwood baseball team did not have their season opener go as intended last Friday as they suffered a heavy loss to the Mount Union Trojans on the road.

A plethora of mistakes and missteps for the Devils ended up with a mercy rule in the fourth inning with final score of 16-1.

Despite the wide margin, sophomore Vincent Cacciotti made a statement in his varsity debut with two doubles and an RBI in two at-bats.

The Devils look to flip the script this week with two more ICC matchups and a non-conference game. B-A hosts the Moshannon Valley Black Knights tomorrow and travels to Juniata Valley to take on the Hornets on Thursday.

Softball

Back at B-A, things did not go well either on the softball diamond for the Lady Devils against the Lady Trojans.

The ladies lost by a final score of 29-2.
