COLLEGE CORNER: Raela Zuiker

Julius Diossa, Staff Writer

Senior Raela Zuiker is a student at Bellwood-Antis high who participates in many activities like band and marching band as well as singing activities like chorus and the musical this spring.

Raela has chosen to go with Penn State’s music program in the upcoming fall of 2022. She will be taking symphonic wind band and clarinet choir for her two courses when enrolling at Penn State. She will also be auditioning for the Blue Band, and playing for Penn states jazz bands.

When she graduates she plans on being a instrumental music teacher at a high school, but she’s keeping an open mind after saying, “Mr. Sachse said I might be surprised at how my preferences could change.”

There are plenty of performance opportunities open to music students at University Park, including the Blue Band, which is a group Raela plans to try out for.

“It’s something that you have to audition for. I am planning on auditioning though,” she said. “I attended the Blue Band’s forward march and it would be an absolute dream to be a part of that.”

Congratulations to senior Raela Zuiker on making a commitment on PSU’s music and instrumental programs. Make sure you try to show your support for Raela
