Athlete of the Week: Dylan Andrews
September 7, 2022
Dylan Andrews has started off his senior football season dominating the field.
Dylan has been a key part to the Blue Devils’ offense and defense to start the season. In his first game of the season, the wide receiver/defensive back had 4 receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown.
In his second game of the season, Dylan had 112 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns, with 4 tackles and 1 interception on the defensive side. This big performance helped the Blue Devils pick up a 27-0 win over the Glendale Vikings last Friday night.
For his performance, Dylan has been named the BluePrint’s Athlete of the Week.
“Dylan has had a very good season so far, especially last week,” said B-A coach Nick Lovrich. “He is very unselfish, so I know he would give credit to Gaven for the throws and the o-line for giving Gaven the time to throw. He is very athletic, and everyone has seen that the last couple of weeks.”
Dylan’s efforts to start the season helped the Blue Devils get their first win of the season, and now they are getting ready to enter weekly conference play.
Dylan says that he has spent his offseason in the Northern Blair Rec Center lifting to prepare for the season. He says that he is feeling good about the rest of the season.
“Everything is starting to click for the team, so I think we can do some really good things this year.,” he said.
Dylan also participates in track and field in the spring. Last season he placed third at the District 6 2A meet in the pole vault and competed in Shippensburg at the PIAA meet.
Congratulations to Dylan Andrews for being named the first Athlete of the Week for the 2022-2023 school year.
