The date for the 2022 powderpuff game has officially been set to Thursday, November 3 at 6:00.

Powderpuff has been a staple in Bellwood-Antis tradition, where junior and senior girls go head-to-head in a flag football game played on John Hayes Field at Memorial Field.

All donations and proceeds from the game are donated to the PA Special Olympics.

“I love the program and got the idea by watching the Unified Special Olympics compete at the PIAA State Track and Field Meet,” said Athletic Director Charlie Burch. “It is meant to be a fun time that creates great memories for all the players, coaches, and parents that participate. I have heard graduates talk about this game many years out of high school.”

Last year, the juniors secured an 18-6 victory over the seniors and are looking to have a repeat this year.

Senior Lydia Worthing says, “I’m super excited to demolish the Juniors!”

Although the seniors are showing a promising team, the juniors are ready for their chance to make a name for themselves and raise money for a great cause.

“I’m super excited to go out and play a fun game of flag football with all my friends,” says Junior Kate Heisler. “Win or lose it will all benefit a good cause.”
