The B-A golf team competed in the Operation Our Town Tournament on Wednesday. The team shot 4 under par in a scramble style match.

Bellwood-Antis sent its top 4 golfers, which consisted of  senior Caleb Beiswenger and juniors Ethan Johnston, Zach Pier, and Josh Dorminy.

Dorminy said that they were hitting the ball well, but “putts” weren’t going in the hole. The team started out strong, opening at 2 under par through three holes. After that they had 14 straight pars and finished out with 2 birdies to finish the round.

Ethan Johnston said, “The team played great, but we just couldn’t get putts to drop. Zach Pier stepped up in clutch moments for the team.”

On Thursday, Dorminy and Johnston competed in the sectionals tournament at Ebensburg Country Club trying to earn a spot in the District 6 tournament. Dorminy ended the round with a 95 and Johnston scored a 96.

Unfortunately, neither made the cut of 90 to advance to the tournament. Despite a cold and windy round with a challenging back 9, the two golfers were proud of the outcome and are ready to compete in the I.C.C. championship next week.
