Friday night Bellwood-Antis travels to Southern Huntingdon to take on the Rockets. The Blue Devils are ready to prove themselves for the top spot in the conference after coming off of a loss to Juniata Valley last week.

Southern Huntingdon is also coming off of a loss to Mount Union. Both teams are 3-2 entering week 6.

Bellwood-Antis is going to have to be able to contain the Rockets powerhouse  offense, which is led by quarterback Nate Myers and producing 151 rushing yards and 281 passing yards per game. Myers has thrown for 15 passing touchdowns, but has also thrown 9 interceptions.

The Blue Devils have a strong and solid defense, led by senior Andrew Nycum with 8 tackles last week against the Hornets and junior Chance Schreier with 9 tackles. The defense will have to contain the quarterback and not let him scramble for positive rushing yards.

Bellwood-Antis struggled on the offensive side against Juniata Valley only to score one touchdown, which came early in the first quarter. Senior quarterback Gaven Ridgway only threw the ball for 27 yards on 5/17 completions. The Blue Devils will have to start out strong on the offensive side and be able to maintain it throughout the game.

This game is important for the Blue Devils to prove themselves and everyone else that they can still win the conference as the season is getting closer to playoffs.

Tonight’s game is at Southern Huntingdon, kickoff is at 7.
