On Monday, the Tyrone/Bellwood-Antis girls soccer team played the Central Lady Dragons at Mansion Park with hopes of a District championship and a spot in the state playoffs.

It wasn’t to be as the girls lost a close match to the undefeated Lady Dragons that came down to the very end.

After Central took a lopsided 4-1 lead, the Lady  Eagles came back, scoring 2 quick goals to make it 4-3 late in the match. Unfortunately there was not enough time to complete the rally.

It was the second straight season the Lady Eagles nearly grabbed the District 6 ring. They lost in the finals last year to Hollidaysburg.

Tyrone/Bellwood-Antis finished its season with a 13-7 record.
