Eight middle school students attended a leadership luncheon in late October.

Eight members of the Middle School Leadership Team attended a luncheon at the Casino, Altoona on October 27.

The luncheon was part of the “United We Can” Outstanding Luncheon Series. Michael DelGrosso was the speaker

Mr. DelGrosso encouraged everyone to have a goal and plan. “Never stop moving forward,” he told his audience. He began the speech with the story of his family, beginning in the early 1900s. He discussed the trials and tribulations the family faced along the way of becoming successful entrepreneurs, founders of DelGrosso Foods and owners of DelGrossos Amusement Park.

Mr. DelGrosso, a Naval Academy Graduate, didn’t see himself working in the family business; however, with a turn of events he found himself becoming an integral part of DelGrosso Foods in 2005.

The DelGrosso company keeps expanding its products and services. Through expansion, the family has acquired two other factories to produce and house its products. Mr. DelGrosso keeps looking toward the future and the new  endeavors the company will be challenged with.

The Leadership Team had a few takeaways  from the speech. “Every business requires hard work” stood out for Ian Clark.

The students also gained a better understanding on how businesses grow and what is needed for the growth.
