Friday night the Lady Devils hosted the Tyrone Golden Eagles. Bellwood-Antis came out victorious with a 58-38 win. This gave them the team its first win of the season improving their record to 1-1.

It was the annual Pink Game to raise money for breast cancer.

Sophomore Leigha Clapper and Senior Chelsea McCaulsky led the team with 16 points and 15 points.

B-A jumped to a 9-2 lead before Tyrone cut it to 16-11. After that’s it was all Lady Devils, who ended the first quarter on an 8-4 run.

“When we started moving the ball we started scoring more consistently,” said McCaulsky. “That’s very important on offense because we like to play fast.”

Bellwood-Antis took an early 41-18 lead to end the first half and had the mercy rule clock running early in the third quarter.

“It was nice to start our senior year by getting the pink ball back,” said senior Alyson Partner.

The girls next game is Wednesday when they travel to Juniata Valley.
