Boys earn first win under new head coach

Anthony Caracciolo was B-A’s top scorer against Juniata Valley.

The Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils earned their first win of the season on Wednesday  against the Moshannon Valley Black Knights. 

B-A controlled the first and fourth quarters and won 67-50. This was the first win for the Blue Devils under new head coach Tyler Mertiff. 

B-A took the early lead, and maintained that lead for the remainder of the game. Moshannon Valley started to show improvement in the second half of the game, but the Blue Devils were able to adapt and maintain control of the game. 

This win puts Bellwood-Antis at an overall record of 1-3, and an in-conference record of 1-1. 

High-scorers include Anthony Carraciola with 17 points, and Correy Shanafelt with 16 points. Senior Caleb Beiswenger ended the game with a total of 15 points. 

The Blue Devils will now travel to Curwensville on Monday, December 19 to take on the Golden Tide.
