The Bellwood-Antis Unified bocce team opens up its season with a 2-1 loss to Altoona yesterday at the Altoona Area High School Fieldhouse.

Losing the first set 14-1, B-A struck back, winning the second set 8-2 and sending the overall match into tiebreaking overtime.

The one-frame overtime set came down to the last roll, where Gaven Ridgway missed a game-winning roll by just a couple of feet.

Altoona walked away with a win in their first ever meet.

The bocce team will play again next week.
