On Saturday, Bellwood-Antis senior Ethan Norris placed fourth at the District 6 wrestling meet at the Altoona Area High School fieldhouse and is advancing to regionals.

Ethan started his tournament off by pinning Jeremiah Barron of Southern Huntingdon (0:43), then pinning Brad Miller of River Valley in the Championship Quarterfinals.

Ethan then was pinned by Gunner Singleton of Huntingdon in the Championship Semifinals, but then redeemed himself with a major decision 12-2 win over Connor Williams of Moshannon Valley.

Ethan ended his day off with a close match against Tyrone’s Braden Ewing for 3rd place, where he fell short with a score of 1-0. This was still good enough to put Ethan at 4th in the district, where he will continue on to regionals

Ethan has now lost to Ewing twice this season by a combined two points. Ethan wrestled his way to a regional spot last year, as well.

Along with Ethan, there were two other B-A wrestlers to get a win during the tournament, both being pins from brothers Elias and Kolben Alley. However the brothers were not able to place alongside Norris.

Regionals will take place March 3rd at Altoona Area High School.
