Feature Teacher: Mrs. Szynal
This month’s Myers Elementary feature teacher is Mrs. Cynthia Szynal.
A graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and Slippery Rock University with a major in Elementary and Special Education, Mrs. Szynal teaches 1st grade. She has taught a total of 19 years and they have all been here at Bellwood-Antis.
In addition to 1st grade, Cynthia has taught elementary learning support, elementary gifted, and middle school learning support.
“I like Bellwood because it is a small town and it has a Christian community feel, which is very rare anymore,” and Szynal.
She also said that Bellwood-Antis is a very student-focused school district.
If she could have any other job, she would want to be a personal assistant of someone wealthy.
She said the best part about her job is dealing with kids, especially with their enthusiasm and willingness to learn each day.
On the other hand, Mrs. Szynal says the worst aspect of her career is making substitute plans and seeing kids in bad situations coming from home.
Her co-workers make her job special.
“My co-workers make every day a pleasant day. I can count on them for professional as well as personal advice. I get work with my best friends.”
