Just this week, Bellwood-Antis senior Dylan Andrews announced his commitment to further his academic and athletic career at Saint Francis University.

“Everything just felt right when I went up for a visit. After meeting with faculty and coaches, I decided that Saint Francis University was the right place for me,” says Andrews on his commitment.

Dylan will be pole vaulting for the track and field team at Saint Francis.

One of the top returners for the Bellwood-Antis track and field team, Andrews made it to the state championships last year after he took 3rd place at Districts.

Recently, Dylan achieved a personal best vault by leaping 13-8 during indoor season. His best jump during outdoor as a junior was 13-3.

“I’m very proud of Dylan,” pole vaulting coach Jim Gerwert said. “All his hard work over the past four years has paid off for him. He’s an extremely hard worker and eager to learn every time he jumps. I know he’s going to do great things for the St. Francis track and field program.”

Dylan is anticipating another successful track and field season looking to go back to the state championships for his senior year. He is also the first athlete of the 2023 class to commit to a division 1 school to play a sport.

Congratulations Dylan Andrews on your commitment!
