The Blueprint’s newest Athlete of the Week is junior javelin, shot put, and discus thrower, Chance Schreier.

Chance has dominated in every meet the team has participated in so far this season, placing at the top every time with his amazing javelin distances.

Chance’s most impressive day yet was this past Saturday at the Igloo Invitational in Altoona, where he placed 5 out of 39 total throwers in the javelin event with a PR distance of 147-02.00.

Improving each meet, Chance is partnered up with senior Eli Pluebell, who leads the team in the shot, and they both are preparing to go far this year with how well they’ve been just four meets into the season.

“I feel like I’ve done pretty good so far,” said Chance. “I’ve improved on all of my events, and I plan on improving even more, and this desire to keep improving keeps me motivated to beat all of my PRs.”

Chance’s goal for javelin by the end of the year is to throw for 155-00.00.

“I am constantly working on my throwing form to get better each day,” Chance explained.

Chance is known for his kind, selfless personality, and he is willing to help his fellow throwers out, all while dominating every other team he is matched up against.
