Track team finds success at United Invitational

The Bellwood-Antis track and field teams competed at the United Invitational on Saturday, 4/15. The girls team took 3rd place overall out of 12 teams and the boys took 4th place out of 11 teams. 

Lydia Worthing produced B-A’s lone championships, winning first in the high jump with a height of 5-00 and 1st in the pole vault with a height of 10-6. It was Worthing’s second invitational victory of the season after claiming first place in the pole vault at the Igloo Invitational in Altoona earlier this month.

Top scorers for the girls were Brielle Campbell in the 100 and 200 dashes who placed 3rd and 4th, respectively, with times of 13.49s and 28.21s. Briley Campbell placed 6th in the 100 and 200 dashes with times of 14.04s and 28.84s. Shawna Lovrich placed 4th overall in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.97s. Lexi Lovrich took 2nd overall in the 3200m run in 12:05.8 minutes. Freshman Chloe Stoltzfus took 3rd in the 300 hurdles with a time of 53.04s and Ava Kensinger took 6th place with a time 53.98s. 

 Chloe Hammond took 2nd in the long jump with a distance of 14-09 and 3rd place in the triple jump with a 30-05. Chelsea McCaulsky took 3rd in the javelin with a distance of 100-05. Alyson Partner took 4th in the shot put with a distance of 29-06.

All three of the girls relay teams placed at the United Invitational, the 4×100 took first with a time of 53.26s. The 4×400 finished in 3rd with a time of 4:36, and the 4×800 team took 2nd with a time of 10:54. 

Top scorers for the boys were Gabe Thompson placed 6th in the 100m dash with a time 11.75s, and he placed 5th in the 200m dash with a time of 23.85s. Kole Dickinson took 3rd in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.50, and he took 2nd in the 300m hurdles with a time of 43.76s. 

Corry Shanafelt placed 3rd in high jump with 5-6. Dylan Andrews placed 3rd in the long jump with 18-06. Dylan took 2nd in the triple jump with 39-08. Chance Schreier took 2nd with a distance of 141-00 in the javelin. Eli Pluebell finished 4th with a distance of 41-04 in the shot put. 

The 4×100 relay team and the 4×800 relay team both took 4th place with times of 47.47s and 9:45 minutes. 

The next meet for the track and field teams is Monday, away at Central.
